學術界對於兩岸議題之探討行之有年，長年累積之研究成果大致解釋其親疏遠近之微妙關係，然考量近來臺灣人認同指數逐年攀升，足見臺灣人民心態上已將對岸等同於外團體視之，另就雙方客觀條件發展而論，民眾一方面逐漸意識到我方由盛轉衰之實力翻轉態勢，另方面透過接觸更加體認彼此在文化、價值上根深柢固之差異現象，具體表現在對對岸整體所抱持之負面態度。
　　本論文主要借用社會心理學整合威脅理論(integrated threat theory)為架構基礎，著手探究威脅、認同、不平等地位、刻板印象及接觸等心理因素在台灣民眾(內群體)對中國大陸(外群體)負面態度中扮演之影響效果。正式問卷委託國立政治大學選舉研究中心進行網路調查，後續並以結構方程式進行統計分析，試圖從群際關係視角，解析多數台灣人始終與對岸保持疏離之可能原因，期對雙方交往關係提出不同詮釋。
　　初步研究發現，臺灣人認同、負面接觸感受及現實威脅為影響台灣民眾對對岸負面態度之主要因素，另透過統計分析驗證「威脅」作為一潛在因素對於民眾兩岸交往態度確實具備相當之影響效果，同時印證了團體接觸假說、社會認同理論及刻板印象等群際交往效果在兩岸關係領域之解釋性，並據此對兩岸關係提出相應之研究建議。

This study mainly used the integrated threat theory of social psychology as the basic framework to investigate the effect of psychological factors, such as threat, identity, unequal status, stereotype, and contact on the negative attitude towards Mainland China (outgroup) of general public in Taiwan (ingroup). Election Study Center, National Chengchi University was authorized to use the formal questionnaire to conduct an online questionnaire survey. Afterwards, this study used structural equation modeling (SEM) to perform statistical analyses and attempted to analyze the potential reasons why most of the Taiwanese always remain alienated from Mainland China from the perspective of intergroup relation in order to propose different interpretations of mutual relations between the two sides.
The preliminary study found that Taiwanese identity, negative contact perception, and realistic threat are main factors affecting the negative attitude towards Mainland China of general public in Taiwan. Moreover, this study performed statistical analyses to verify that “threat” as a potential factor indeed has a certain effect on general public’s attitude towards mutual relations between Taiwan and Mainland China. This study also proved the explanatory power of intergroup relations, such as group contact hypothesis, social identity theory, and stereotype for the field of Cross-Strait relations, and then proposed corresponding research suggestions on Cross-Strait relations based it.
