硫酸鈣骨取代物應用在修補人體骨骼缺陷的歷史可以回溯到19 世紀末,因為硫酸鈣良好的生物相容性跟引骨性,使得硫酸鈣骨取代物在修補人體骨骼缺損上有非常好的表現。
本研究第一階段主要嘗試在實驗室中自行製作半水硫酸鈣粉末,並在二水硫酸鈣粉末中加入去離子水,可以加快反應速率。實驗發現,如果事先在二水硫酸鈣熱處理的粉末中加入適量的去離子水,反應時間由原本的六小時縮短為一小時,大幅的簡短了半水硫酸鈣的製作時間。
第二階段則是製作出一有別於市面上抗壓強度僅23MPa 的醫用硫酸鈣,經研究發現,在硬化劑中加入適當濃度的添加劑後,再以高壓製程製作,硫酸鈣骨取代物強度可達113MPa,大大的增加了硫酸鈣骨取代物的應用性。
Being the biomaterial, Calcium sulfate bone substitute can trace back to 19 century. Because it’s excellent biocompatibility and osteoconductivity, calcium sulfate bone substitute has very well performance in repairing human
bone defect.
In the first part of this research, just trying to make calcium sulfate hemihydrate in laboratory. And I found that if add some water in the process,
the time can be short from six hours to one hour.
In the second part of my research, I’m trying to make some calcium
sulfate bone substitute that got 113 MPa in compression strength. Just different from the market that can only get 23MPa in compression strength.
