因應產業對設計相關人才的殷切需求,國內各大學紛紛成立設計相關科系。在學齡人口急遽下降的情況下,設計系所的招生名額卻大幅增加,工業設計教育產業必須積極調整課程規劃與教學內容,以面對競爭激烈的設計教育市場。本研究的目的包括了解設計教育在我國政策、產業環境中具有的優勢與阻礙,並探討我國設計教育科系提升競爭力的關鍵因素及可運用之競爭策略。本研究以Porter鑽石模型理論為架構,利用設計名校的相關調查研究,歸納出提升競爭力的關鍵因素,接著透過訪談設計教育、設計實務專家,了解國內設計教育環境可行的執行策略,並以QFD法整合AHP法評比各關鍵因素、競爭策略之間的重要性。
研究成果包括:1.指出設計教育產業競爭力的關鍵因素;2.了解這些因素在國內設計教育環境存在的優勢與阻礙;3.制定與規劃設計教育產業競爭策略;4.以品質管理方法針對關鍵因素、競爭策略進行評估,整理結果與建議供設計教育人士參考。

For satisfying the need of design professionals that companies need increase massively, industrial design programs in universities set up continually. Although the school-age population are decreasing, the vacancies for design programs are increasing. The departments of design have to adjust their courses and curriculum actively to face the challenges. The main object of this project is to understand advantages and difficulties of design education, and to find out the practicable instructional strategies. The framework of this study is Porter Diamond Model, and it also used the investigation of the best design schools to generalize the key factors that can raise competitiveness. Then the study generalize the design education strategies by interviews with design professionals and academics, and apply QFD and AHP to calculate the importance of instructional strategies.
The results of this research are:1. find out the key factors about design education competition ; 2.understanding advantages and difficulties of industrial design education; 3.set the industrial design education strategies; 4. Evaluate the importance of the key factors and the competition strategies importance by quality management approach, and collate the results as a suggestion for design education.
