Opportunity has emerged as a focal point in the field of entrepreneurship and recognizing potential opportunities will influence the future development of the venture. Prior research explores those varieties- Individual learning, Social network and Prior knowledge separately and deeply. However, there still are many interactions among those varieties. Therefore, the purpose of this study is trying to complete the research gap and exploring the moderate effect in the process to understand how the entrepreneur acquire information and transfer to plan and profit through their social network and prior knowledge.
According to Corbett research (2007), individual learning have the effect on entrepreneurial opportunity recognition (EOR), then extending Dimov (2007) and Marvel’s (2007) view on social network and prior knowledge, we will interpret the process that entrepreneur combine with those information from individual experience and self-around environment, then share or shape the idea to get a complete venture plan.
The result of research:1. Individual learning has positive effect on EOR. 2.Social network moderates the relation between Individual learning and EOR. 3. Prior knowledge moderates the relation between Individual learning and EOR. 4. EOR and the aid of incubator has no influence on venture performance. This study contributed theoretical and practical implication. Future directions for research are described, and its suggestion will imply in the entrepreneur and the incubators.
