Physical environment, surroundings of physical factors that we can touch and see, influences and leads human behavior. In architectural perspective, visual landscape elements is one of the key to issue physical environment; people perceive environment actively from their experience — including arise of emotion — and make cognitions through this livings. While there is ample of studies discern how people act in landscape environment, few research efforts have consider the ties between perceive and cognitive toward visual elements. Therefore, the aim of this article attempts to explore the bonding of visual landscape perception (VLP), visual landscape cognition (VLC) and visual landscape elements (VLE). For users, it composes structures of society, for expertise, it predominates the rules and govern.
This study involved a survey, subjects were chosen from 34 district which the landscape considered ameliorated in Tainan, and comprised of five set of questionnaires: VLE of place, VLC people receive, including arouse of emotion, VLE they generate and nexus of place attachment. The quantitative analysis of questionnaires was mainly conducted through regression analysis and ANOVA in order to indicate the direction and relationship between these variables. The results are shown as follows:
    1. VLE is consisted with as 4 elements: Building, Outdoor, Emblem and Wellness.
    2. The emotion of Residents influence by VLE through VLP and VLC.
    3. Residents` VLC and emotion-responses affects place attachment.
    4. The characteristic of “Age” and “residence-time” has the strongest affect to those elements.
