The study explores the effectiveness of Indigenous cultural symbol management to preserve the culture of Sapediq community by Danlu Village. The methodology utilized a mixed methods approach, including in-depth interviews with 2 stakeholders who are village members, surveys, and mental maps activities with 169 Indigenous village residents. The research later integrates the findings with historical archives to produce a story map as the deliverable product. Firstly, the scarcities of information systems are limiting the spread of cultural knowledge, digital management is a potential option to enhance the situation of cultural values and spatial cognition. Secondly, existing resources are scattered and not systematically managed, requiring reallocation and better data curation. Thirdly, there is a positive trend of stakeholder collaboration, but more focused efforts are required to improve and engage more data accessibility. Concluding that the current preservation efforts are inadequate and further improvements are urgently needed to prevent cultural loss. Using survey and community-based mapping to add to the evidence, the results show that Geographic Information Systems (GIS) could be a good way to make digital storytelling platforms aid in preservation efforts. To meet Indigenous cultural sustainability in a more systematic and collaborative result, further integration between technology and community participation is suggested.
