隨著數位影音資訊及電腦科技的發展及普遍,消費得以將影音檔案從電腦複製或傳輸到家庭娛樂系統中,因此加速了電腦與電視及影音週邊產品的整合,然而因配線複雜及環境美觀的考量,對電力線通訊(Power Line Communication;PLC)的需求益形升高。是故運用電力線傳輸來進行多媒體影音資訊的傳輸及娛樂應該是未來家庭網路的新趨勢。
在本論文中,我們先對對高速電力線傳輸特性作了一系列的實驗與量測,並對測試結果來加以分析研究,以期對電力線成為一個通訊媒體有更深一層的認識,進而能藉由這些結果的分析來評估在建置一個高傳輸效率的電力線網路,如何滿足家庭數位網路所需的頻寬需求。另外在應用的實作上,本論文提出一個運用高速電力線傳輸的MP3 隨選音樂系統來作為應用展示,並實作出相關的播放與管理軟體系統及所需的嵌入式系統裝置之韌體及硬體建置。本系統具有以下優點:
I. 隨插即用,設定及操作簡單。
II. 移動方便。
III. 伺服端及客戶端都可以控制音樂播放器的動作,即具有雙向控制的能力。
IV. 音樂檔案資料集中控管,方便管理。
這套系統如應用在飯店或多包廂之餐廳等服務業場所時,便能解決其對多房間不同音樂播放之建置所遭遇的長久問題。
Owing to the development of digital technologies and computer science, consumers can nowadays duplicate or transfer multimedia data from computer to other home amusement device easily. This has accelerated the merging of computers, TVs and other multimedia devices. In the meantime, being tiresome in dealing with complicated connecting lines and requiring an elegant living space, people start to see the needs for communicating via power lines (PLC). This should be a new trend that power lines are used to transmit multimedia for home network in the future.
In this thesis, a series of experiments and measurements are conducted to understand the characteristics of high-speed power line networks and the test results are carefully analyzed in the hope to have a deep comprehension in power line as a new kind of communicational medium. Such knowledge should be greatly helpful when building a high performance power line transmission network to meet the broadband demands of home digital audio/video network in the future. This research also implements an audio on demand (AOD) system of MP3 that uses high-speed power lines to transmit and play digital audio clips. This system can demonstrate the following advantages:
I. Universal Plug and Play. The configuration and operation are simple.
II. Easily portable.
III. Motion Controllable by both Server and Client sides of the MP3 Player, namely the system has bidirectional control ability.
IV. The music data can be centralized managed.
Such a device is particularly suitable for places like hotels and restaurants that have multi-rooms. That can solve the long-lasting problems in broadcasting different music to different rooms/places simultaneously.
