This research mainly develops two Novel multimedia tools for medical e-Learning. In the first section of the research, the“Virtual Microscope” platform was established. Under this platform, interaction and Team-Learning activity between teachers and students were done, through several teaching functions, such as key-point drawing, microscopic finding annotations, and personal notes. Furthermore this system will allow the students to learn the microscopic images more efficiently and effectively compared with the traditional physical microscopic images. Compared with the commercial Virtual Microscope teaching program, the system provides more “Interaction Functions”for self-learning, team-learning, and discussion among the teachers and students.

In the second section, a“Virtualized Family History Editor”was developed for the students to easily record a Virtual Pedigree table, with the contents regarding the family medical history. The system also provides a special function to compare the students’ pedigree tables with the standard table for the training of medical students in Pedigree editing.

An evaluation and interviews through the expert was done. Both of the systems had positive feedback, especially the“Virtual Microscope”system that indeed significantly makes the learning more convenient.
