Since its opening up and reforming policy 40 years ago, China has attracted investment funds from around the world, which has promoted China’s rapid economic development and turned it into the engine of the global economic development . Due to its huge territory, China adopts regional development model to promote the prosperity of the whole country.
In the early period of opening up and reforming, the Chinese government didn’t find a proper regional development model, so it drew on the investment of businessmen from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to help promote the development of Pearl River Delta. The government strongly believes that Chinese economy can grow only by developing regional economy. As a result, in the 1990s, the government used this experience and spent 10 years to create great success in Yangtze River Delta. Furthermore, in the tenth five-year plan, it proposed to develop regions in Beijing, Chengdu Chongqing and the North East.
The determinants of FDI contain the conditions of market, infrastructure, and industry gathering. Foreign investors use these determinants to analyze but they can’t precisely catch the perfect timing to make investments. By analyzing the data of China Statistic Yearbooks, this research tries to find the top five economic regions’ investment determinants in time sequence, hoping to help explore the perfect timing of investment for foreign investors and logistic industries.
