2004年由供應鏈協會所發展之DCOR(Design-Chain Operations Reference-model)模式,主張透過該模式幫助企業進行設計鏈分析與促進成員溝通,並提供設計鏈的基本規範以協助設計鏈整合。
In response to the trend of design outsourcing as well as product development collaboration, and the gradually mature development phase of supply chain management domain. The competitive advantages of enterprise will come from design chain management more effectively to fulfill collaborative strategy. Therefore, managers need a reference model to integrate, to analyze and to manage the process of design chain. Design Chain Operations Reference-model (DCOR) which is developed by supply chain council, defines common design chain framework to understand, communicate and improve design chain performance, but the reference models are too general to be served as the benchmarking of any specific industry.
The mold industry is an important supporting industry during the product development process, but many companies in the mold industry are SMEs and have limited capability to design process management, that will have high impact on collaborative effectiveness among design chain partners. For improving DCOR and helping the mold maker to advance their design process management level. This thesis extend DCOR into the mold industry (in short, M-DCOR) based on literature study and a case study.
M-DCOR can be divided into three reference models, the first model is called design chain process reference model which is developed based on DCOR can help manager to describe the design chain framework for the purpose is presented and the framework is modified based on empirical study in this thesis. The second model is design chain performance reference model which identifies the metrics used to manage design process and the model is also validated according to a survey in the mold industry design chain. Furthermore, Design Chain Collaborative Management Process Maturity Model is developed by this thesis and is applied for comparing process maturity between product customers and mold supplier in design chain in this research, the result finds significant difference between design management maturity levels. This thesis conclude that DCOR should be extended into specific industry for better understand and adopt, moreover, M-DCOR is powerful tool for mold maker to improve their process management capability in order to reduce the capability gap between product customer, so that can better integrate into the process chain of customer product development and collaborative effectively.
