This study examines whether star CEOs behave differently in earnings forecasts with other CEOs. This article collects a list of CEOs awards presented by six different famous magazines from 1996 to 2020, and the winner of awards are considered as star CEOs. The empirical results show that star CEOs release forecasts more frequently than non-star CEOs. In addition, this paper also finds that star CEOs are more likely to forecast earnings that are lower than the actual earnings, that is, star CEOs are more pessimistic about earnings than non-star CEOs.
