臺灣近年來積極與各國簽訂度假打工簽證瞭解備忘錄，政府也鼓勵國內青年通過度假打工來擴展國際觀，當中又以赴澳洲人數最多，近幾年平均每年有多達2萬多青年赴澳洲度假打工，總有人說臺灣七年級生是草莓族，八年級生是水蜜桃族，但現在都是這些七年級、八年級的新世代到澳洲度假打工，然而為何臺灣青年不願意留在國內就業，而相繼前往國外度假打工的現象值得深入探討。根據研究目的，本研究採質性研究法，將推拉理論運用至度假打工的現象中，整合微觀及宏觀因素，包括度假打工者個體因素、臺灣環境催化推力因子及澳洲環境吸引因子，探究何以臺灣青年願意遠渡從洋赴澳洲度假打工，從事大家眼中的「3D（危險Dangerous、困難Difficult、骯髒Dirty）」工作。本研究參考國內外相關中文及英文文獻、書籍及網路資料，並透過深度訪談法，訪問5位曾赴澳洲度假打工者，受訪者均於澳洲停留達6個月以上，出發動機及在澳洲所從事產業皆不盡相同，透過樣本的多元性及代表性以瞭解赴澳洲度假打工者最真實的體驗與想法，希望補足過去相關研究歸納總體與個體成因之缺口。本研究發現如下，第一、臺灣青年赴海外度假打工是一種國際青年移動趨勢；第二、個體與總體成因隨外在環境產生變異趨勢；第三、人才外流問題；第四、澳洲黑工及勞動剝削不影響度假打工者意願。根據前述研究發現，本論文提出以下幾點建議，第一、改善國內青年就業問題；第二、強化我國駐外館處僑務服務能力；第三、設立單一度假打工服務窗口或專線；第四、澳洲度假打工政策之借鏡。

With Taiwan actively signing working holiday agreements with a number of nations in recent years, government thus encourages young Taiwanese to explore international view though working holiday maker program. Among those singed counties, Australia attracts the greatest number of young Taiwanese for working holiday maker program. But the phenomenon of why young Taiwanese would rather continuously go overseas to be a working holiday maker than work at home is worth exploring deeply. The study adopts in-depth interviewing method and applies the push-pull theory to the working holiday phenomenon, and also explores why young Taiwanese are more likely to travel far-away to join Australian working holiday and even take so-called “3D jobs (Dangerous, Difficult, Dirty)” through micro and macro angles. Besides micro factors of working holiday makers themselves, macro factors ranging from domestic policy、economy and society to Australian natural attractions, language, visa, salary and geological locations all have impacts on Taiwan youth’s willingness to take part in working holiday or not. The study infers that macro and micro factors are influencing with each other. Under micro perspective, young people often make their own decisions and take their own actions based on their own self-interests, and with a macro factor adding in, accelerating the main factor to greatly drive up the number of people to travel to Australia for working holiday purpose.
