摘要
無線行動通訊的應用已經是現今的趨勢,無線通訊較不受空間上地形地貌的限制,可以利用目前現行的通訊架構做即時性資料傳輸系統的開發。智慧型運輸系統(Intelligent Transportation System, ITS ),為藉由先進之電腦、資訊、電子、通訊與感測等科技的應用,透過所提供即時資訊的溝通與連結,以改善人、車、路等運輸次系統間的互動關係,進而增進運輸系統之安全、效率與舒適,同時減少交通環境衝擊之有效整合型運輸系統。ITS是現在各國積極開發的環境,可以為未來運輸使用者提供一個方便、快速的即時監控。
本論文重點在於利用行動通訊系統建構一套獨立的硬體設備,來提供ITS做為資訊的即時傳輸,可應用於道路電子收費系統。系統中路側單元(Road Side Unit)發出固定RF訊號,車上單元(On Board Unit)接收到訊號後,利用GPRS Modem進入網際網路架構,經過INTERNET連上收費中心完成收費手續,取代傳統人工收票收費方式,可減少收費站附近交通壅塞及噪音的影響。亦可在車上單元上加入其它應用,如GPS(Global Positioning System)裝置等,可回報管理中心使用者之地理位置或是其他道路車況情報,達到使用者與管理者雙向溝通,進而擴充本系統應用之功能以藉此達到整合至ITS之目標。

Abstract
Applications of wireless mobile communication are a tendency. Wireless communication system is unrestricted in geographic space, also can be developed a real time system using the architecture of wireless communication working so far. The Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is an integrated system that combines transportation, information and communication being achieved by the advanced computers, communication and sensor technique. It can improve the interaction between people, vehicles and roads using real-time data to provide a better way for safety, efficiency and comfort of transportation system. Now, ITS is a new project that many countries want to develop to the users in future. Thus many countries are developing ITS.
The content of this thesis presents a set of hardware which are using mobile communication to transmit real-time information to ITS. It can be applied to Electronic Toll System (ETC) for vehicles. In this system, Road Side Unit (RSU) transmits a RF beacon steadily, On Board Unit (OBU) receives the signal and then connects charge control center through internet using GPRS Modem, thereby replacing traditional manual charge. The concept can decrease the noise and heavy traffic near the tollbooths. The OBU also can transmit other kind of data to the control center by increase its applications, suck as position using Global Positioning System (GPS) module. Thus makes this system more flexibility to integrating ITS.
