由於台灣女性投入勞動市場人數日益增加，以及婚姻市場中供需失衡的社會背景下，第三世界的年輕女性進入台灣，成為女性短期移工與婚姻移民者。本研究採參與觀察與訪談法，研究上述短期移工與婚姻移民者的勞動內容與工作條件的差異，並解釋為何她們願意接受看似不平等的勞動內容與人際關係？
研究結果顯示，兩者雖擁有大致相同的勞動內容，然而也有以下的差異：第一，短期移工的工作內容以雇主指令為依歸，且其照顧對象以老人居多，而婚姻移民者的工作則有家人的分攤，且照顧的對象主要為小孩；第二，短期移工的工作內容比較明確且規律，較能掌握自己的時間，而在婚姻移民者中，有全職工作者在調配與擁有自己的時間上較為自主，家庭主婦的工作與休閒時間的配置則比較模糊有彈性。
「經濟誘因」和「關係維繫」交錯地影響短期移工與婚姻移民者的勞動人際關係的型態。移工和雇主或被照顧者之間存在不平等的相依關係，之間仍存在著互相認可和尊重的可能性。而婚姻移民者雖因婚姻理由來台，卻也因經濟需求與維繫家庭關係之愛的象徵性意義，開展在台定居的積極力量。
總而言之，本研究突破一般人普遍認為對女性短期移工與婚姻移民者的受壓迫與剝削關係，並看到不平等相依中的互信與尊重的另一面向。

Because the Taiwan female invests the labor market population to increase day by day, and under the society background that the supply and demand unbalanced in the marital market, third world young female enters Taiwan and become the feminine short-term labor and the marital immigrants. This research used the participant observation and interviewing to study that has there any to be different of both of their work, and explained why the short-term labor and the marital immigrants are willing to accept looked unequal of the work content and the interpersonal relationship?
The findings showed that both of them although has approximately the same work content, however also has the difference: First, the short-term labor’s work content carried out the employer’s instruction, and most of they are in attendance on the old people, but the marital immigrants’ work has family member's sharing, and most of they took care of their children.
Second, the short-term labor’s work content was quite explicit and order, so they can hold of their own time easily. In the marital immigrant, if they have the full-time employment work, they hold of their own time more independent; but if they are housewives, they allocated their work and the leisure time quite fuzzily and elasticity.
“The economical cause” and “the relations maintain” staggered affects the short-term labor and the marital immigrants’ work interpersonal relationship condition. Short-term labor between the employers or the care-acceptors existed unequally dependence relationship, and result in approves and the respect mutually. The reason of marital immigrants came to Taiwan is marriage, but because the current of economic condition and the symbolic significance of love to maintain the family relation, they started to develop positive strength which settles down in Taiwan.
