Due to lighting quality requirements, emphasis on global environment issues and rising of energy cost, makes daylighting utilization again being taken seriously by in recent years. Through this study, compared with full-size verification daylight dimming system that there is room for improvement while many vendors claim their daylight use system has a higher energy efficiency. In addition, this study simulated an average meteorological year into DAILux and amended the results through measured data in order to calculate the annual daylight dimming energy efficiency of this office. And compare the dimming lighting energy efficiency of Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCFL)and T5 Fluorescent Lamp(T5).
The summary is as follows:
T5 fluorescent lamps with two-loop daylight dimming can be reached about the overall annual rate of 37% energy saving. This numerical simulation value between the value of dialux simulation saving rate 31.8% and the maximum theoretical value of energy saving rate 39.5%.
One-loop daylight dimming CCFL power consumption than the T5 fluorescent lamps three loops without daylight dimming of 2.4% more power. However, compared with three-loop CCFL without daylight dimming the energy-saving rate is 16.4%. Compared with one-loop daylight dimming T5 fluorescent lamps the energy consumption is 27.4% more power.
Recommend the use of a separate power control of daylight sensors to achieve optimal energy. The daylight dimming loop near windows can use this control to enhance the overall rate of about 13% energy saving. Daylight dimming loop near windows and the middle can both use this control to enhance the overall rate of about 20% energy saving.
