  • 地震是板塊內累積應變的能量釋放,每當地震發生,破壞能量小的斷裂面先破壞,當小斷裂面都被破壞,需累積一段時間,才有足夠的能量去破壞大的(Kanamori, 1981)。本研究利用台灣1991至2010年完整的地震目錄,分析大地震後三個月內之餘震分佈情形,選定地震範圍,再觀察是否有明顯震前活動或靜止期的地震前兆發生。這段期間,共有16個規模6.5以上的地震;依發生日期,同一日發生的地震,屬同一地震序列,可分成11個地震序列(E01-E11)。本研究區域,由東經119.5至122.5度,北緯21.5-25.5度,每一度四等分,將台灣地圖劃分成192個分區(每分區25公里平方)。統計每個分區每個單位時間(月)內發生地震次數,建立各分區數量、時間關係圖。分析大地震前後各分區餘震與前震數目的變化。過程中,以餘震找出地震範圍,再觀察地震發生前,其前震數目的變化,再觀察主震發生位置,可得到三種類型之結果。第一種類型是震前活動在地震範圍內有明顯的數量減少,且主震發生在完全靜止帶,包含E09、E10;第二種類型是震前活動在地震範圍內有明顯的數量減少,但主震沒發生在完全靜止帶上,包含E02、E03;第三種類型是地震前後數量沒有大變化,包含E08、E01、E11。比對各類型與主震發生深度、位置之間關係,發現地震在東北地震帶,所得多為第三類型。但E09(2002東北部外海地震深度175公里),與E10(2006屏東外海雙主震)序列,深度50公里左右,屬第一類型;若地震為極淺地震,深度小於30公里,所得結果多為第二類型,此結果凸顯了淺層地震確有明顯地震前兆,可藉以推估地震發生位置。本研究利用地震紀錄分析得到台灣各區及斷層之地震分佈、深度、特性,其結果可供相關單位參考使用。

    Earthquake is an energy release process of accumulated strain in the plate. Whenever the earthquake occurred, the areas with small destructive energy break first. Furthermore, the plate needs a longer time to accumulate energy to break a larger asperity. In this study, we use the complete catalog of earthquake in Taiwan from 1991 to 2010 and analyze the aftershocks within three months after a large earthquake. We select earthquake magnitude larger than 6.5. During this time, there are 16 earthquakes exceeded ML 6.5; according to the date of the earthquake, on the same day, the same seismic sequence can be divided into 11 earthquake sequences (E01-E11). The area of this study is from 119.5°E to 122.5°E, 21.5°N to 25.5°N, and each degree is quartered. The map of Taiwan is divided into 192 partitions. We count each partition number of earthquakes per unit time (months) and establish the EQ-T diagram in each district. We analyze the changes in the number of aftershocks and foreshocks in each district.
    During the identification of earthquake range by aftershocks, we observed the changes in the number of foreshocks before the earthquake, and then we observe the location of the main shock. We obtained three typical results. Type 1 is that the numbers of the pre-earthquake activities reduce obviously and the main shock is located in the seismic quiescence area, including E09 and E10. Type 2 is that the numbers of the pre-earthquake activities reduce obviously, but the main shock did not located in the seismic quiescence area, including E02 and E03. Type 3 is that there are no major changes of the numbers before and after the earthquake, including E08, E01, and E11. Comparing among the type, focal depth and the location of the main shock, we found earthquakes located in northeast Taiwan belong to Type 3. If the earthquakes are much shallower and their focal depths are less than 30 km, they are usually Type 2. The results indicate that shallow earthquakes have obviously the pre-earthquake activities, which may be used to estimate the probability of earthquakes. In this research, we analyze the earthquakes to get the result of the probability of earthquake occurred in different districts and faults in Taiwan.
