事件性空間（EVENTUAL SPACE）是指在都市中擁有某種特殊空間型式的場所，而非當地的事件發生場所。
事件性空間是一種以都市空間為議題的辯證觀點；而事件性空間議題的出現便是希望能提出一個閱讀／書寫都市的新方式。它指認了具有特殊空間形式的都市場所或空間，而這些事件性空間的強度分佈是可以做為討論都市空間脈絡的參考，讓焦點回歸空間本身，而非其中的歷史意義，著重的是場所能否表現出其空間特性，而非重建地標。

本研究主要是探討 事件性空間 如何和都市設計，或是都市觀察產生互動；並以一個設計案來顯示其執行落實的可能性。
第一部份
陳述由〝現代化〞所衍生的技術主義及機能論所擁有的瓶頸，並說明可能會影響都市型態變化的各種外力。接著提出議題〝事件性空間〞，並說明事件性空間的觀念，同時佐以各種事件性空間的說明圖示及實際案例，來達成對於事件性空間指認的共識。
第二部分
進行基地記錄的工作，說明基地的選擇及實際記錄的內容。
接著將實際記錄的資料轉化為各種主題的地圖，以圖像的方式書寫出都市的狀況，嘗試依不同觀念疊合各張地圖，試圖以圖像的方式來研究事件性空間在基地中存在的可能性或是對基地的影響。
第三部分
在基地中擇一事件性空間做設計演練；並在設計之中嘗試對應出舊有的事件性空間的形式並創造新的事件性空間。

Eventual space means one place in the city having some kinds of special forms of space.
The discussion about eventual space represents the dialectic of city space making. The issue brings up a new way to Reading/Writing the city. It can show us those places having special forms and let the strength of distribution about eventual space to be the reference when discussing sequence of the city space. It can make discussions focusing on space not meanings of history, what we care is to represent properties of space not to rebuild a landmark.

In this thesis, we have three parts to explain when “eventual space” to be one kind of issue, how to have interactions with urban design or urban observation and the possibility in a design case.
Chapter one
We will talk about the choke point of the function-ism and technology-ism from the modernization and Explain what forces will affect changes of a city form and the reason of discussing. To Build the issue “eventual space” and try to clear the definition and explanation of the concept about eventual space, showing explanations in diagram and true cases to create a common consensus about eventual space.
Chapter two
Choosing one site and record what it have.
We transform all recorded data to MAPs of every kinds subjects, writing down the city situation in images, and try to collage each maps in different ideas. To research possibilities and affections when eventual space is in the site by those MAPs.
Chapter three
Choosing one eventual space to be a design case, and hope to represent original form of eventual space and create new eventual space in this case.
